Our Philosophy of Care

We believe that the best dentistry relies on as little removal of tooth tissue as possible and, when treatment is necessary, we will always try to choose the least destructive option with your best long-term interests in mind.

If we do consider it necessary to prescribe a course of treatment to you, we will not carry this out until you are aware of the scope of the treatment, the consequences and what will be needed from both us and you to maintain your oral health in the future.

Milton Dental Practice – Cancellation Policy

At Milton Dental Practice, we understand that sometimes plans change. If your appointment becomes inconvenient, we are always happy to reschedule it — provided you give us at 24 hours’ notice. This allows us to offer the slot to another patient who may be in urgent need of care. For example, appointments scheduled for a Monday must be cancelled by the previous Friday, as we do not count Saturdays or Sundays as business days. Cancellations made over the weekend for Monday appointments will be treated as late cancellations.

Missed appointments and late cancellations represent a cost not only to the practice but also to other patients who could have been seen during that time. They can also disrupt dental treatment plans and create scheduling challenges for other patients.

We strive to run on time and accommodate all patients efficiently. In return, we ask that you notify us as early as possible if you are unable to attend your appointment. If you fail to attend, or do not give the required 24 hours’ notice, a late cancellation or no-show fee will be applied. This fee is £20 per 15 minutes of clinical time missed, reflecting the time and resources reserved for your care.

We do, of course, understand that emergencies or illness may occur, and we will take such circumstances into account. This policy is in place to ensure fairness, minimise disruption, and avoid passing unnecessary charges on to our patients. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
